Tax Deductions

Back in the days when I still did freelance stuff, my fee always took a 10% deduction for tax.

My clients would always say that they’re required by law to deduct the 10% even if they’re hiring a freelancer. Me, being young and gullible, always took them at their word, got the money, and just did the work.

Many years later, after setting up my own business and getting my own accountant, she informed me that the mandatory tax for freelancers is only 2%...not 10%.
