Watch Two More Videos

I remember when the first two videos came out from the Bagong Sigla YouTube Channel.

There were some weeks between instalments, which was not the case with the third and fourth viral videos titled “Sugod” and “Bagong Umaga” respectively. If at all, it’s something akin to the slow tease culminating in frenzied and frenetic activity (make of that what you will).

Sugod” takes a different tact from the two previous videos with its doom and gloom atmosphere and instead paints a more optimistic scenery with Chiz himself engaging in community building activities together with its various constituents and stakeholders, an obvious allusion to his philosophy of everyone working together for the common good.

The fantastic/comic elements remain with the glowing speed lines cutting through various scenes and the alibata symbol which has come to stand for the Bagong Sigla movement flickering like a tiny flame alluding to hope.

Bagong Umaga” dispenses with the metaphors as Chiz gives it to the audience straight up: he can’t do this alone.

Only by working together can we actually achieve something of note and worth. This is a challenge meant for all of us. As much as we are called upon to vote to elect a new leader, our responsibility and duty does not end there. We are called upon to do our share in nation building.

Cheezy? Definitely. But hey, the guy’s name is Chiz after all.

But just because it’s cheesy doesn’t mean it’s true.

EVENT: Bagong Sigla

The Bagong Sigla video series recently released the third instalment titled SUGOD.

The new video's tone takes a different tone from the doom and gloom theme of the first two parts, Apokalipto and Salot and instead paints a much brighter picture, and allusion of better things to come. Senator Francis "Chiz" Escudero is portrayed in various activities of community building together with various members and stakeholders in the community, illustrating his philosophy of the collective working together for the common good.

The video still retains some aspects of the fantastic which was the trademark of the first two videos with strategic flashes of glowing speed lines and the flickering light of the Bagong Sigla logo not unlike a small bright flame.

The third installment ends with the message “Tayo ang Bagong Sigla”.
